As podiatrists, we don’t claim to be life experts by any means, but 2020 has taught us some valuable lessons and we thought we should impart some of those lessons to our clients to kick off the year on the right foot. Â No doubt, you may also have some lessons of your own. Â We would love to learn from them too so please pop them down in the comments section below 👇!
What have we learnt from the class of 2020?
- Improve personal hygiene – Wear a mask and have hand sanitiser in your bag! Â It’s not hard to do. Â In fact, throughout the winter of 2020 we noticed a drastic decline in coughs and colds from our kids and family.
- Our health is priceless – Looking after the one life vessel we have has been shown to be the most important thing in 2020. Â So what does looking after our health actually mean? Â It really comes down to focusing on the different pillars of a well rounded healthy lifestyle – mental, physical and emotional. Â Being in tune to how we’re tracking in those 3 areas and knowing when things are out of balance is important as it will help us know when to take action and do something about it.
- Never take freedom for granted – It’s only when we don’t have it that we realise it’s so precious. Â The freedom and joy from spending time in the great outdoors and seeing what Mother Nature has to offer is what we all should do more often. Â It really does tick off all the 3 health pillars mentioned above in one big hit.
- Being comfortable with being uncomfortable – We all had to get out of our comfort zones to survive 2020. Â Small business owners had to ‘pivot’ to survive, those losing their jobs had to reassess and consider other options to continue putting food on the table and pay the rent, and families with young kids had to deal with homeschooling and working from home all at the same time. Â It’s when we conquer those difficult challenging situations that we learn to take risks, adapt and eventually grow into individuals who are more resilient and stronger than before.
So what does this have to do with feet? Â 💁
If you think about it, it has everything to do with feet! Â Think of ALL the things you CAN’T do if your feet are sore.
At The Footcare Clinic, we’ve witnessed many of our client’s mental, physical and emotional wellbeing being affected by foot problems that could have been easily avoidable. Â Whether you love your feet or not, being able to move well relies on them being in good form. Â If sore feet is the reason you can’t be active with the grandkids or can’t go out for long walks to lose weight and stay active, then it’s time to have them checked. Â Don’t let sore feet stop you from doing the important stuff! Â You can easily book an appointment online or call our friendly team on (03) 9711 7562 to kick off 2021 on the right foot – We’re always here to help.
