What is EMTT & how does it work?

Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT) is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy magnetic pulses to stimulate cellular repair deep within musculoskeletal tissues. Unlike traditional magnetic therapy (PEMF), EMTT operates at a much higher oscillation frequency of 100–300 kHz, allowing it to penetrate up to 18 cm into the body. This gives it a far wider range of applications and a stronger therapeutic effect at a cellular level.

EMTT works by increasing cell membrane permeability, which helps reactivate the sodium-potassium pump and restore normal cell function. In practical terms, this means reduced inflammation, accelerated healing, and meaningful pain relief — even for conditions that haven’t responded to other treatments.

How is EMTT different from Shockwave Therapy?

Both are powerful regenerative therapies — and they work very well together.
Shockwave Therapy uses high-energy acoustic (sound) waves focused on a specific local area. EMTT uses high-energy electromagnetic pulses that treat a broader regional area and reach significantly deeper tissue layers.
When used in combination, EMTT and Shockwave Therapy complement each other, often producing faster and more complete results than either therapy alone.

Prior to your appointment you will receive an email with a link to complete your client forms online. If you prefer to do it in person we would appreciate that you arrive 10 mins earlier to allow time for registration and to make things run smoothly.

On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a smile! You’ll meet your podiatrist, who will listen to your history, work with you to perform a thorough assessment and begin treatment to get to the bottom of your concerns.

We’ll stay in touch by sending personal emails or SMS (not bulk spam), and also ask for feedback after your appointments so we can continue to improve our service to you.

FAQ's

EMTT is completely non-invasive and generally very comfortable. The treatment is performed fully clothed — there’s no gel, no skin contact, and no needles. Most patients feel little to nothing during the session, with some reporting a mild warmth or gentle pulsing sensation. There’s no downtime afterwards.

Each session is typically 5–15 minutes in length. Most patients require 4–6 sessions over a 4–6 week period, though some notice improvement after the first couple of treatments. Your podiatrist will recommend a treatment plan based on your individual condition and response.

Yes — EMTT works especially well alongside Focused Shockwave Therapy and K-Laser. Combining these technologies often leads to faster, more effective results. Your podiatrist will let you know what combination is right for you.

No, you do not need a referral to see a Podiatrist. The only time you’ll need a referral is if you qualify for the Medicare funded Chronic Management Care Plan or if you’re a War Veteran with a Gold Card.

Our Podiatrists are very popular so we can’t guarantee an appointment on the same day but we’ll do our best to make it happen if you contact us by phone.

We allow 40 mins for all initial consultations. This extended time will allow our Podiatrists to meet you, assess you and give you a management plan and treatment. Our subsequent appointments are generally 20 mins in duration.
